buck buck
Well, today was pretty good! Sundays are alwasy good for sleeping in! Then I had to bill the guest groups in the morning, even writing the bill for one of them (a project at included lots of self-doubt & nerves). I got everyone set to leave around 12:30, and confirmed with the family reunion group that they would be out by 1:00pm. Our staff gets back in around 2, and we should be able to start work around 3. After staff worship ended, we went over around 2:45…and there was still about 15 of them left. I told them that because we had another group coming in at 6, we had to start cleaning anyways. It worked out that our cleaning motivated them to leave sooner than later. We cleaned timberidge right up until dinner time (and up until the moment the next guest group’s leadership arrived), and after a quick meal, I had a meeting with the Thurston county folks about their camp. They are bringing in about 100 mentally and physically handicapped adults, so we had lots of logistics to go over. I finished with that group just in time to go help with swim checks. As I walked down to the waterfront I was greeted with a dog pile. We then played the Canadian favorite “buck buck“. In this game, you line up, hug…then crouch over as the other team runs, jumps, lands & sits on you. Its great. Goofing around at the waterfront as an o-team led to swim checks that lasted past sun-down. We dropped people off, and headed home to watch survivor with Chile, Cephas, & Hannah. A good time was had by all as we ate popcorn & watched Joel get the boot from season one. Bedtime – 11:39.
