Well, here it is..the big day. I got my first *real* guest group at camp today! Isn’t that special? I’ve been training and training, planning and planning..the day finally came. Seriously though, I’m curious to see this one play out. It’s a women’s group from north Seattle and I’m on my own for the first time. Hosting isn’t some big production or anything, there isn’t a list of 100 things that I must get right, but its still a new experience, and I’m trying to make sure that I do a good job right out of the gate. Camp is starting off with a bang this weekend. We’ve got two groups coming in, along with two “mini-camps” going on, “mother daughter horse” & “parents & lil’ shavers”. Lydia’s mom came down to co-speak at the horse retreat. Also, all of the program staff got in this afternoon. It will be great when ALL of the staff get here and the summer really begins.
What is in the “what is josh currently reading” file, the answer is: “Plan of Attack” by Bob Woodward. Its not to often that I have something under the “what is josh currently reading” file…but we are lucky this time aren’t we? It is a pretty good book so far, if the first 51 pages are any indication…the rest will be great. I’m curious to see if this book changes my views on our current president and the war on Iraq. Its not going to be TO hard, I’m in the midst of figuring out where I stand, so I was hoping that this book might educate me a little bit, so I can make a more informed opinion. There isn’t anything that really frustrates me more that people who have uneducated opinions, and I’d hate to be a hypocrite. I’ve heard this book comes down critical of the president, but I haven’t seen anything like that so far…but we will see.
All this book talk is making me hungry….for knowledge! I’m going to go back to the cabin and enjoy a nice warm glass of water, and snuggle up with a good book. Peace out yall.

I’m excited to hear how you come out of this weekend. Who’s the program staff this year? I just realized I don’t even know (although I know who it should have been 😉 BRING BACK THE DREAM TEAM!
