Live From Anchorage

014th Oct 2004blog entries, nome., travel

I got into anchorage last night, and its already been great. Lydia and I were able to finish up most of the shopping we needed to get done today, and Lydia’s sister gets into town tonight. We went out to dinner last night at the Sourdough Mining Company. This morning we attempted to add me to her renal policy, however because she was getting a state fare, that was not an option. Lydia dropped me off at the hotel, I was able to find a screaming deal on a rental so I got a ride back to the airport from the hotel shuttle. I met there with the YoungLife Regional Director for Alaska, and we had a nice meeting. I went and got the car from the agency, and started with the errands. I’m done for now, and Lydia should be back anytime now. Its so crazy to be in a place with cars, trees & stop lights. I also find it odd how quickly I was able to adapt to Nome, and get used to the absence of things that I’ve grown up with most all my life.

SO, before I left Tuesday, I was able to confirm my interview that I’ve been talking about…and I’m happy to announce that on Tuesday of next week I’ll be interviewing: Space Ghost!! I got his number from a radio producer email list, and he called me right back! It will be a fun interview, and we have already planned out some things to ask & say.

Here is an artist’s rendition of what our interview would look like, if he was able to come into the studio:
